GTR should be ready by then, I would be scared to launch it dont want to break anything :P how many revs do I give it haha

edit: Hamish I can strongly recommend you to change your gear knob by then, i can see that big mofo breaking off! haha

I'm keen for this too...will be a good to set a base time for the car...

It will be good to finally meet you Gerald!

If the gts4 gearbox is rebuilt in time (which it should be, its at the rebuilders now) i'll be there.

Likewise mate...

I have left the rb20 camp though...gone 2J now...

I do miss the old 32 a lot...

I can definitely make this! Is there a wooden spoon award?

Are passengers allowed? I've never been in any seriously quick cars, fastest was the Elfin at the last DECA, and prior to that it would be a stock Evo 7 then my Supra. Would be cool to feel what a truly fast car feels like. Of course I wouldn't jump in if someone were going for the personal best, but if they were just practicing launching or whatnot I'd appreciate the ride.

She'll be right mate, just make sure theres plenty of oil in it, then its 8,500rpm and drop the clutch!

me too. Would love to finally feel that fabled gtr launch

I'll come down and give it a go for show of numbers. I'd like to give my supra a go but it's not working at the moment so I'll just have to see what I can get out of the Sprinter lol.

Last place anyone? lol

Can someone attend if they (were once a president of the WRX club, and) have been banned from the WRX club for referring the current line of Subaru cars to looking like a rubbish skip full of smashed crabs. Oh and calling the current president a Muppet. :P

Oh and I'll probably be driving a Hiace Diseasel :P

LOL - Age, you my friend are always welcome :)

RE Passengers: They are permitted providing you wear helmet, appropriate clothing, etc.

But..... if a car has a passenger, the rule is only one car down the strip at a time.

Priority for the day will be for drivers to get as many runs as possible. We will definately be able to squeeze in some runs for passengers but it will not be all day.

Hope this helps

Costs have gone up - It's a dedicated day just for us.

Thats the only reason i can think of... either way that's the price they have told us.

RE: License - You need one to race far as i understand as it's insurance related (for them), same as Calder which i know you 100% need a valid license to race.

I'll be there... Not sure which car i'll be racing though... RB26 equipped either way :)

Is it one you can buy on the day?

And when did Calder start requiring a license? Last time I went to the drags was about 8 years ago and I didn't need one.

License = drivers license.

Ahhhh, I read Muz' question as an ANDRA/CAMS/ASAA type license and kinda missed the actual drivers license bit :)

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
