Nab is great. Work/life balance is amazing and the culture is very strong. Most people stuck around for a LONG time. We do pay less than the other 3 however generally have higher bonuses

(Which kinda backfires when you we buy failing banks in England and have to provision hundreds of millions then cut bonuses lol)

interesting.

I swore that when I left my current place I would move to a much much smaller company.

would not be IT as per desktop support stuff, moved away from that years ago.

this is a Security Role...

LOL no shit.

I didn't think they were flying you around the world to personally switch it off and then switch it back on again.

that GTR sounds tuff

also guy in the VL wagon can steer. (considering the way the car is handling)

also dat rotor.

I invited him to the next Sandown day when he asked about it... gave him all the details on how to enter... no dice, would rather just sit on the internet and circle jerk about power figures

I know several people who have worked IT in NAB.

None of them stayed very long, everyone had massive, massive complaints about the structure there and the culture.

Note: This was in level 2-3 support roles. May or may not apply. Enough that I stayed well clear of the place.

In other news, went for a drive with my cracked tank because f**kit YOLO

(will check part numbers at Kudos re R33 and R34 tanks btw)

Split a coolant line

Had to stop about 15 times on the way home to fill up radiator

good times

Sadly, Mcguyver came in the way of using old liquor bottles to fill up radiator.

Did lol at filling radiator with water coming out of Absolut vodka bottles... x5

Figured that would be Mcguyvery enough. Did get home!

when I split mine.

turned radiator cap one notch back so it realease a bit of pressure and not pump fluid everywhere

made it the 30 km home with only a loss of 500ml,,,

then replaced radiator, hoses, water pump and fan belts, never had a cooling issue again.

That up there is an excellent idea.

Not in your case Greg, your pistons would probably exit via the exhaust tip. :P

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
