Like the Group Buy section LOL.. However i understand why you did it..

How about a section for "Discounted SAU Buys" where some of these "Group Buys" are really just discounts for SAU.. and never have finish dates or numbers required..

Can we have it, so when we run the mouse over a topic (eg for sale section), we get a small description of whats for sale. Alot of other forums do it and i find it pretty good. (calaisturbo.com.au have this feature)

Thanks Dave

Hey,

I was just wondering if there is a good reason behind showing all topic replies in a list rather than the old method of being able to browse all replies without having to click on each one. This new method makes viewing this site very hard and gives me the shit's, and I'm sure there is someone else out there that feels the same.

you used google to search the site - click "options" top right of any thread, change to standard.

Ah thanks mate, I feel like a real di%k now, cheers for that i guess computers aint my thing then, it was really getting to me totally ruining this site for me.

Oh well having a laugh now thanks heaps for your help.

I have noticed on some other forums they have threads with people (engineers etc) that can explain what mods are legal or not and how to go about legally modifyimg your car..I haven,t seen one here yet...is there one??

We need a forum for posting about our personal rides. Not massive projects, but just every-day-drives we modify for our needs.

I have a GTS, I want to keep most stock but I still want to post up about it with photos, and chat about subtle mods etc. But nothing massive.

There is a Garage Option available, which lets you list mods, and pics etc. Like the one at the bottom of my avatar.

I have noticed a lot of girls have been joining the skyline world lately (one being my gf aswell) the first thing she asked me when she signed up is there a section for girls???? I said no but thought with the increaing number of female members it would be a great idea!!!!

ooooooooh cool idea!

hate to imagine how quickly it would get overrun with guys :S

(Edit: ... and I just realised that post was from 2008 anyway .. d'oh)

Yeah but there's no room for discussion.

For eg/ http://hyperaustralia.com/forums/viewforum...0c87e368f098805

Hi all, brand new to this site and i came initially for one reason. To send a PM to a current member on this site that i would like to purchase products from! I got a problem though that should be addressed.

As a new member it said i had to have at least 10 posts to send a PM to a current member. I assume the reason for this to to avoid spamming the members with hate mail or wtv.

I don't want to start sticking my nose into articles i have no knowledge of for the sake of boosting my PM score.

I think that should change. I dont think you should have to have at least 10 posts to send a PM.

In the meantime, can someone send 666DAN a PM asking him to PM me or e-mail me in the meantime.

E-mail is [email protected]

Thanks beforehand for anyone reading this and doing so for a new member to this site.

RedEclipze,

There's has been many a discussion relating to this. Even in this very section. Please have a little read of it.

The long and short of it is, yes its there to stop spamming. Yes i know you can argue that you have to spam 10 posts, an no it won't be changing.

SAU is not a business, the for sale section is there for the benifit of this community. Its not unreasonable to expect members to be active on SAU before reeking the benifits of SAU.

As for your specific situation, why not post your email address in 666DAN's thread asking to be contacted as you have done here?

I understand there are posts for this, but this is a new site for me and i did not have the time to sort through hours of reading to send a message off to one member. When i get the opportunity to read through, i plan to.

It's a valid point to want people to be active on the site, however that has no play to being able to send a message to someone once your a new member. I figured there may be another way around that ONE thing about posting 10 times. It was for learning purposes, and to make things easier i suppose.

I did not want to put information on his thread that did not pertain to the thread at hand. Do members have their individual threads where people can post random messages? If so, then great i know that now. If not, then my answer is that i did not want to dirty his thread up.

Thanks for whoever passed on my request! I got his e-mail

    • Cheers. Skyline is back on the menu, can’t get rid of it. It’s like a child you don’t want, or herpes
    • I got back to Japan in January and was keen to get back on track as quickly as possible. Europe is god-awful for track accessibility (by comparison), so I picked up a first-gen GT86 in December just to have something I could jump into right away. The Skyline came over in a container this time and landed in early January. It was a bit battered after Europe, though—I refused to do anything beyond essential upkeep while it was over there. The clutch master cylinder gave out, and so did the power steering. I didn’t even bother changing the oil; it was the same stuff that went in just before I left Japan the first time. Naughty. Power steering parts would’ve cost double with shipping and taxes, so knowing I’d be heading back to Japan, I just postponed it and powered through the arm workout. It took a solid three months to get the car back on the road. Registration was a nightmare this time around. There were a bunch of BS fees to navigate, and sourcing parts was a headache. I needed stock seats for shaken, mistakenly blew 34k JPY on some ENR34 seats—which, of course, didn’t fit—then ended up having the car’s technical sheet amended to register it as a two-seater with the Brides. Then there’s the GT86. Amazing car. Does everything I want it to do. Parts are cheap, easy to find, and I don’t care what anyone says—it’s super rewarding to drive. I’ve done a few basic mods: diff ratio, coilovers, discs, pads, seat, etc. It already had a new exhaust manifold and the 180kph limiter removed, so I assume it’s running some kind of map. I’ve just been thrashing it at the track non-stop—mostly Fuji Speedway now, since I need something with higher speed after all that autobahn time. The wheels on the R34 always pissed me off—too big, and it was a nightmare getting tires to fit properly under the arches. So I threw in the towel and bought something that fits better. Looks way cleaner too (at least to me)—less hotboy, less attention-seeking. Still an R34, though. Now for future plans. There are a few things still outstanding with the car. First up, the rear subframe needs an overhaul—that’s priority one. Next, I need to figure out an engine rebuild plan. No timeline yet, but I want to keep it economical—not cutting corners, just not throwing tens of thousands at a mechanic I can barely communicate with. And finally, paint. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.
    • Nope, needed to clearance under the bar a little with a heat gun, a 1/2" extension as the "clearancer", and big hammer, I was aware of this from the onset, they fit a 2.0 with this intake no problems, but, the 2.5 is around 15mm taller than a 2.0, so "clearancing" was required  It "just" touched when test fitting, now, I have about 10mm of clearance  You cannot see where it was done, and so far, there's no contact when giving it the beans Happy days
    • It's been a while since I've updated this thread. The last year (and some) has been very hectic. In the second-half of 2024 I took the R34 on a trip through Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland - it was f*cking great. I got a little annoyed with the attention the car was getting around Europe and really didn't drive it that much. I could barely work on the car since I was living in an inner-city apartment (with underground parking). During the trip, the car lost power steering in France - split hose - and I ended up driving around 4,000kms with no power steering.  There were a few Nurburgring trips here and there, but in total the R34 amassed just shy of 7,000kms on European roads. Long story short, I broke up with the reason I was transferred to Europe for and requested to be moved back to Japan. The E90, loved it. It was a sunk cost of around EUR 10,000 and I sold it to a friend for EUR 1,500 just to get rid of it quickly. Trust me, moving countries f*cking sucks and I could not be bothered to be as methodical as I was the first time around.
