New project- R32 GTR with VK56DE ?
WantGTR replied to Mr RS's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i know you are going to say to be different but why? the fastest street, radial gtrs run tired old rb30 blocks. quickest so far is a 7.4. what level do you think a vk56 needs to be at to be at that level. -
Are you able to expand on the precision v band kit?

I concur. AI triple pump surge, 10an feed and return. Should be sufficient for your setup.

I want to get the car running and tuned. I know there will be gremlins to sort out so will take it as comes. Car goes in for fab work later this week. Some ceramic coating to follow then fire dis bish up. Cant wait to hear dat bridgeport idle. -
Actually copied the bypass from Goodezilla. Piggaz was very helpful too but theres more than one way to skin a cat. You are right. Fuel systems arent cheap. I was originally going to do pump and injectors... shit blows out i guess

No plans for the box. When it breaks ill prob just throw another one in or rebuild mine for now. No decent option without spending north of 15k so its not going to upgraded soon. Going from basically stock to this level was costly. -

So my Ard alternator finally turned up. That is now in. Same size as the old one so basically in and out job. In other news. Couple boxes turned up. Had to do a test fit! 6boost with gtx3584rs. Loved the smell of new parts haha -

nice, yes i have been following that alternator thread. if i hadnt already committed to and ARD one from a prominent online vendor i definitely would have gone for that setup. I have spent thousands on this site and never had a problem but i have been waiting 3 months or more for 1 smelly alternator. not far off now. hopefully in 2-3 weeks if no further delays haha wont be entering gtr festival anyway. too difficult with work and family. looks like yours in coming along well. have you run a number yet? -

What alternator did you end up using? -
Are you sure about the mac valve? I took one of the fittings off, there arent many threads and theres no taper. I took the fitting to supercheap and tested it on the bolt size rack thing. Screwed in and out perfectly on m10x1.0 With the drain i used a speedflow fitting, part no 816-10-12. Looked the same as the stock drain thread and fits perfectly. The fittings i have mentioned in the above post are currently on the car so i can confirm they work.

Right guys, incase there are more amatuers like me, on an rb26 block Front turbo oil drain is 3/4 npt (first B in my pic) Rear turbo oil drain uses a gt/gtx/efr oil drain adapter. Ie https://gcg.com.au/petrol-performance/performance-2/oil-drain-fittings-accessories/oil-drain-kit-gt-gtx-efr-series-10an-male-detail (second B in my pic) Oil feed is m12x1.25 (first A in my pic) Water feed or return on the block is m14x1.5 (second A in my pic) Fwiw i went 10an for the oil drain, 8an for water feed/drain and 4an for oil feed. Hope this helps anyone who is reading. Does anyone know the thread size for the mac boost solenoids? I was sure they were m10x1.0 but the fittings dont really want to go in. Perhaps i need to clean the threads on the solenoid??

Platnium racing r35 kit is the way to go. Probably one of the dearer kits but tru bolt on and stock cover fits. All genuine items also. What you get

Tight schedule. How do you fair up compared to the other cars? Make it a decent way through eliminations? -

Better to buy a motor already built?
WantGTR replied to KerrodR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I must be missing something here. Can people please advise which shops offer warranty on performance engines? Im not talking about after sale support because you spent heaps of money there im talking aboutmore than that. -

If youre staring down thebarrell of spending 30-40k imo build your own. You know its all new gear. At the sort of money you don't want someone elses stuff. I considered second hand turbo setups and other parts but ppl want basically new prices for second hand gear. I dont care how good of a recommendation it has. You are better off making a new purchase with a receipt and be the first one to use it.
