Just bought one of these bad boys:

https://plazmaman.com/product/gtr-r32-r34-pro-series-intercooler/

Should work well with the -9s and forthcoming e85 / flex conversion.

Thanks to @r32-25t

I am very interested to know how it turns out.  I'm also running -9s, but I think this intercooler may be too big for -9s.

No - not by a long shot mate. (600x300x76mm). These are made as a factory replacement.

You could even go the 103mm. Not really about size but efficiency. Some one with more smarts than me can explain about the drop and cooling..

I think the easiest way to think about it is......you cannot fit a big enough intercooler into the front of a car to reach the point where you would say it is "too big".

Perhaps, But you can also have a lot of extra mass, that's right at the front, making your weight distribution worse and increasing your inertia for cornering, for very very little gain...

In other words its not how big it is... its how you use it....

Best Gtr intercoolers I'm looking at upgrading my intercooler and want to get one of the best I can
what is the best flowing/cooling Gtr intercooler available in 100mm thickness
hypertune have a 680mm x 320mm x 100mm core
plazmaman 600 x 300 x 100mm comp race series
greddy 710 x 300 x 100mm core
which would be best out of those 3 ? Any others that I have missed or that people have great results with ?

HPI-jap made
100mm and holding 1000horse

i considered your options but like jap stuff for my jap car

BTW it’s hybrid style fin configuration
(google a pic and you’ll see what i mean by hybrid)

Lol your car is on stands with its ass hanging out? "But it's running" ?  My car was pulled off the road to do a turbo swap. I'm doing the Fab work just like what's happening with Benjis car. WTF has the turbo got to do with it lol?

Paul's box hasn't finished being setup just like yours so what's the deal?

No doubt when he takes it out you'll get plenty of time in his rear vision mirror waiting for boost to come on ?

That's if the 5s live long enough at 26psi.

Then you will have to convert your car into a GTS4?

Back on topic, have you got any IAT data for the HPI?

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
