Why do people hate the R33?
BakemonoRicer replied to Laurence's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The fact the soarer is a bottom of the barrel price sure means a lot for opinion. How many times do you get someone saying "Oh wow, look at the soarer". I guarentee never. It looks like someone has even stuffed their balls inside a gigantic condom. -

GTSBoy, you're completely deluded and part of the clique that regularly get left in the dust by GT-Rs. I own an S15 (which destroys GTS-T's no problem) so am well versed in what a RWD can do, but the R33 GT-R is simply at the top of the food chain and the only people who hate on it are the people who cant afford to own one. At the end of the day, the R33 GTR presevervation society will have the last laugh when all our cars are in insured in 6 figure territory and can be sold for 6 figures. They are the ultimate. Only the most knowledgeable will choose the R33, hence we are the true Skyline enthusiasts. /Thread. -

Gtsboy you sound like a misinformed art agent. I have a reputation as a womaniser and just about every woman from the americas, south americas and locally loves the shape of the R33 over all the rest. Deal with it...the R33 preservation society doesnt need to listen to your nonsense. -

GTSBoy, I completely disagree with you. Plenty of consensus on GTR.co.uk that the BCNR33 is the most popular to the 'general public'. The R33 GTR is the ultimate out of all the Skylines, and I've been in all of them from light to heavily modified. Plus, americans like a car with road presence and the R33 has that. It's the widest and baddest. -

The R33 GT-R has by far aged the best out of the lot, so long as its in immaculate condition. It is a true headturner, photos do not do the car justice as it just has a mystical presence in real life. The chassis is by far the most superior out of the lot. These sentiments are echoed by the likes of Akira Lida (GT500/ Le Mans driver), Midori Seibi's son etc. We all know the R34 was watered down to make it 'less brutal at the limit', even Mr Okabe admitted that. Why do you think Nissan never clocked an official lap time at the Nurburgring? Because the R33 was faster, LOL!!!!!! BCNR33 owners, hold on lads, the americans will quickly learn our chassis is the ultimate, we are sitting on goldmines so strap yourselves in lads! -
The Stock R33 GTR
BakemonoRicer replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Forget N1 turbo's, for a factory special do Nismo R1 turbines w/ the Nismo inlet pipes. Expect completely smooth flow from the twins due to the perfect merge of the inlet piping. They are N1 killers. -
The Stock R33 GTR
BakemonoRicer replied to Steve85's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
That's a great find mate. I think the hardest part about owning a GT-R would be to keep it in stock condition. They're too much of a monster ready to be awakened and they DO have a reputation to live up too. I think the value will ascend more in stock condition, but the question is....will you ever sell it? I strongly feel I will never sell mine as they are just too hard to find in the pristine condition we both have. I think anyone selling an immaculate R33 for any less than 100k at present is a fool, they will be worth big money soon!!!!!!!!!! They are the fastest chassis out of all GT-R's. #Winning!!!!!! -

Bottom end bought. Happy for you to close Dunc. Time to build up a spare stroker bottom end : D -
The silver looks magic. Why didnt you ask for twin gates? I got this done for my S15, a bit more complicated when it comes to fabwork but a better result i.m.o.

Any reason not to use nismo 740s?
BakemonoRicer replied to Murray_Calavera's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I'm using a radium fuel rail which fits under the stock plenum and has -8an ports. That'd be the go for an R33 as well. And Bosch 1650cc stainless injectors ftw. The injectors pop right into the rail no need for adapters. Look at this, DONE! http://www.radiumauto.com/Top-Feed-Fuel-Rail-Conversion-Kit-Nissan-RB25DET-P1038.aspx -
Progress on the S15 has been slow, been spending a lot of time at the drawing board and just finished importing an R33 GT-R from Tokyo. On the exhaust side we've got the custom race dump designed & fabricated this weekend - EFR7670 TS 1.05, 304SS 3.5" downpipe & Tial MV-S 38mm wastegates. The rest of the exhaust will continue throughout the week. After planning the fuel system in more detail to future-proof the car, we fabricated a custom surge tank to suit the Pierburg 700Lph brushless fuel pump. The tank obviously has a lot more volume than anything you can buy off the shelf. The Pierburg is a serious bit of pump & will help save plenty of operating current compared to running dual Walbro 460's. Plus, I'll be able to run higher base pressures for better fuel atomization. For the main tank we made a custom CNC fuel hat & inside there will be an Elixir 700lph Ultraflow pump w/ controller. Everything has been anodised black. Once exhaust fab is done, we will start on the fuel system. After we position everything, I'll make a shopping list and start ordering the Earl's Ultrapro lines & fittings to start plumbing it all up.

R33 Gtr Prices -price Projections?
BakemonoRicer replied to GTR-N1's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
R33 is a LOT more popular in USA than the 32. And 32's are hitting 80k+ already. An MPII 34 grade 4 with 80,000kms? in OK condition sold for 160k. Remember, collectors want the cream so have to pay for the cream. -

Spending all that extra money you are nuts to retain twins. Those things were in fashion last century Seriously, go an EFR! Those things are magic and you wont be wasting your money doing things twice!! -
Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0
BakemonoRicer replied to Piggaz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This no replacement for displacement shit really annoys me Build a f**king don mega head and enjoy the fruit of an EFR. Whats funny is 4 cyls can in some cases make more grunt & torque than 6's. Deal with it. -
Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo's V 2.0

8374 with a 1.45 housing on a hamburger with the lot 2.8....is it epic? Hell f**king yes!!!!! The 1.05 is definitely hyperactive/frantic very early....but the 1.45 is like getting hit in the face by george foreman! In the lower mid to top end its just completely off its head, you're pinned to the seat holding on for dear life. Is it still responsive? Yes. Its just a little bit smoother early on.....you dont lose THAT much compared to the 1.05....and it still kills precisions, garretts and the like. The 8374 is definitely the perfect turbo, as it can do f ing everything VERY well.... But of course.....having a built motor with special head and portwork is 100% needed to bring out the goodness in these turbos....and when thats done...hold the f**k on!!! What would I choose? I honestly dont know if I could pick between the 1.05 and 1.45...they are both epic in their own rights...
