Does that mean the rear weight of the car is now on the 2 small bolts holding the original shock in place? Assuming the spring is no longer in it's perch

Correct. I've been running MCA Street Performance Series coilovers in my M35 since March and honestly cannot fault them. I've also had a full car load of passengers as well as a loaded boot and they held up perfectly fine. MCA are a company I wouldn't doubt in the least.

So after about 2 years at 297ATW KW I need more. dropped my 260RS of at Maatouks Racing last Thursday, motor should be out by Wednesday this week to get a full build done. Not sure what will be done yet until the block & crank are inspected but either way 650KW ATW should be happening in about 6-8 weeks. Going back down this week to pick up the car without the motor so I can tidy up a few things while it easy to get in & under the front end. The boys were impressed with how clean & straight the old Stagea is so I'm sure they'll look after it, as soon as I get more info & they start the work I'll post update & picks. Wish me luck...

Still waiting they had a few things come up like responding to JUN2 beating their 1/4 mile time   I don’t want to rush them as it’s not easy to get work done on a Stagea by a GTR specialist  plus the wife has a M135i BMW (278KW) & I  have a Harley & a BMW sports tourer as well.

Finally got around to installing my 4G wireless router. Bought this for ease of use with the Raspberry Pi rather than hot-spotting off my phone each time. It's mounted in the passenger-side cubby and power tapped off the stock Japanese tuner. It automatically turns off with accessories. The car switch for the Raspberry Pi has stopped working though... Contacted the vendor but might have to buy another one.

Also setup the OB Link. Works perfectly. Does everything I want except trans temp.

OK so its started Fully forged RB30 1000HP bottom is being machined & built & my RB26 head is also being machined & upgraded, soon for all the new parts to be ordered. The crank decided the direction I headed - see uploaded image & find the fault :) Anthony Maatouk has come up with just what I wanted a bullet proof forged motor...

Bought mine another battery, it was fine on Friday but dead today. It hardly moves since we got the Leaf, and the battery was churning out a massive 0.03V this morning when I checked it. Not ideal considering I'm off on a 600km business trip on Friday.

I think one of the bonnet hinges has collapsed as the bonnet is catching on the left-side quarter panel when I open it, takes quite an effort to get past the point of resistance but eventually it goes "BANG!" and everything moves freely again. :P The tip of the quarter panel is rusting now after all the rubbing but meh, it's just the beater these days. One day maybe I'll show it some love. Maybe.

OB link looks nice. What are you using the Pi + 4G for?

Update: SOMEONE (not giving anything away but you can bet she's going to cook me some eggs*) left the dome light on, hence the drained battery.

*NZ in-joke.

Not much really. Mainly streaming music. Quite often it'll be on the Monstercat radio stream via Twitch or stuff from my YouTube subscriptions which are automatically downloaded using youtube-dl. It also has RetroPie installed with a heap of ROMs and an 8BitDo SNES Bluetooth controller. 4G is just for convenience.

Maatouks are picking everything based on the power & reliability I asked for so apparently a Precision but I don’t know what one yet. As soon as I get the specs & parts list I’ll post it.

Got rid of the HKS pods and went back to a standard airbox, but since I run a MAP sensor , no AFM. Haltech ECU instead of standard and FCON PRO, Had new Longer BC inserts put in the front suspension to raise the car off the ground. Just waiting for a MOMO Factory wheel to turn up. All fluids changed, new battery. New radio, new tyres. New cam belt and water pump and new secondhand heater box, and fix sundry leaks

    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around with a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
    • It ended up being that orientation of the float hub in relation to the clutch disk, when I installed it, I heard a loud click and being stupid, I decided to not take it a part and check it. The hub didn't properly align with the clutch disk and was causing the issue. Definitely an odd one! Dahtone Racing was able to fix me right up, stand up blokes!
    • Right, but I'm saying on the stock ECU measured airmass from the MAF is no higher than stock. So it's accounting for the higher flow rate iso-manifold pressure. You just have to keep turning down the boost until you're within the stock tune's load scale. If you run off the end there's no telling what will happen. This does mean there's zero benefit to the turbos you're running vs stock, if anything it's just a straight downgrade because the transient response is worse, you don't even get the ECU's boost solenoid helping to pull the wastegate closed during initial spool, and peak power is only whatever the factory map can give you before you hit the R&R corner. On a -9 I would bet that you would have to change out the wastegate spring once you have a real ECU and you're tuning it for real. I'm not saying this is a remotely ideal state of affairs, it's just a way to keep it driveable until you can get a proper tune done.
