Green line = 9180 1.05 a/r
Red & blue = 8474 1.45 a/r

This is from the blue DC2, right?  I was told that this is running an EFR9280 now, and that this comparison is comparing the EFR9180 with the EFR9280.... in fact, if there are no crossed wires then there is a pic of this car on the Full-Race FB page saying it has an EFR9280 now

I am also looking for a T4 1.05 External gate twin scroll housing for EFR7670 if anybody knows of one for sale.

Part number is 12701019047

I am unsure if all B2 turbos use the same 'D type' rear housing that i am looking for or if it is specific to only 7670

Thanks

It would be turbo specific to fit the right sized turbine wheel.

Any idea is that direct swap from 8474 1.45a/r to 9280 1.05 a/r without any exhaust work?

Between the 1.05 and 1.45 housings is 7 mm. The dump has to move back 7 mm, it doesn’t matter if it’s a 80 mm wheel or 74 mm wheel.

Ok. . Thanks. So 74mm 1.45 to 80mm 1.45 they should be direct swap.

This is a great thread,

After reading a huge chunk, I have a question for all those high hp setups running 8373 and up.

What exhaust are you all running on these Skylines?

Reason I ask is because I ran into flow issues on my little track built EVO X running 8374 (IWG) with a 3.5" straight through race exhaust, we removed it and ran with downpipe only and made 30whp gain at only 1.6bar boost. I can only imagine how much more power you can make with a side plant (exhaust cutout operated with a valve). I'm installing one now...

I was looking to upgrade my 8374 to a 9180 but now thinking after reading this I'll go to a 8474, my setup is sleeved block 2.2ltr (4 cyl obviously) with direct port meth injection, sequential 6 speed, head work, oversized valves and makes over 600awhp on a mainline dyno (I flew the boys from Powertune over to tune it). peak power is 8500rpm and I get 2 bar of boost by 3,900rpm in 4th gear. Car weighs 1280kg after stripping it (with roll cage) and being built for Sepang F1 circuit.

'little' evo.

You can plumb an exhaust in if you actually plumb it further back (and not lose power), but realistically when you've gone to the degree most people have in these kind of builds it's venting to atmosphere and everyone prefers it that way.

Hi Robo,  thanks for using our EvoX turbo kit.  2 bar at 3900rpm is excellent for the 8374.  What exactly are you looking to acheive and do you have any reason why you would not want to go external WG?

In the case of a RHD evoX, there is less room than LHD.  As you know, the steering shaft area is your space constraint from using a large diameter downpipe.  Dumptubes for an external WG can be tough to package - but doable.. depending on what your exact goals may be will ultimately dictate the piping configuration.  you are welcome to email me directly to [email protected] and ill do my best to help

    • Hi, i’m making a rb25det coil loom for Vag short coil. Can anybody tell me which Ecu signal wire belong to coil number 1 and 2,3,4,5,6? The connecting switch in above pic is 8 wire i think white is for +12v and black for earth.

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
