  1. Its actually a coloured coating on top of the plastic that goes bad I removed all mine with bug and tar remover, its standard grey plastic underneath, can be primed and painted easily
  2. exactly the same process yeah. the clear coat is some special stuff that sticks to plastic without primer and has built in UV blocking ability
  3. All these products are great but without some kind of UV protection the problem will be back, and faster than before, since all the sanding and polishing has now left bare plastic with zero protection there are a couple of kits with spray on clear coat, i'm testing one now
  4. damn, R34's dont get any better than that but those tyres... i had a set of 14 year old tyres that looked brand new due to lack of use, but were downright dangerous in some situations, not to mention hard and noisy
  5. tyvec car covers are great. just give the car a wipe with quick detailer and microfibre cloth before putting the cover on - keep the car and the inside of the cover clean, will never have an issue with scratching
  6. autosol metal polish applied with 000 grade steel wool should do the trick
  7. may be worth checking the tyres before replacing the bearings my s14 had worn bearing sound from the back, turned out to be dried out crappy old tyres, the noise is totally gone now with a fresh set of rubber
  8. Costco towels tend to lose their softness and leave a lot of lint after being washed a couple of times. Good for general purpose use but I use better quality towels for wax removal. My Meguairs cloths that are still going strong, probably around 10 years old now
  9. everyone goes through the pod phase i had em on my old R31 and the J30 maxima dailys
  10. in South West Sydney, its all the auction spec AMG Mercs doing this kind of driving now
  11. Most V series cars have dropped heaps The focus is now on all the R cars thanks to the GT-R's going up in value My 35 would be lucky to get 5k now
  12. damn thats a museum piece Get in touch with Nissan, maybe they will be interested in buying it?
  13. Looks like Cusco Type OS to me
  14. Looks grey to me Haven't seen any blue trim in a Skyline since the R31
  15. Even GTSt and GT-t models are starting to creep up, trying to jump on the GT-R price rise bandwagon Carsales have a few R34 non-turbo 25GT for 14-20k, auto R33 GTSt for 15k, and turbo R34 Gt-t are in the low to mid 20's all of a sudden (one dealer wants 30 for a "low" km car) and then theres this... http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1994/SSE-AD-2765592/?Cr=393 and this one, ready to ship to usa http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1998/SSE-AD-148104/?Cr=421
  16. clean as fk love it!
  17. Prob similar to a 34. Bunch of clips under the windscreen, maybe 6 in total that need a decent tug. I pulled the outer edges up first then worked my way in, one clip at a time
  18. I use these guys for anything I cant do myself Advance Motor Mechanics   Address: 31 Cosgrove Rd, Strathfield South NSW 2136 Phone: (02) 9742 5468
  19. dealers already asking 50k http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Nissan-Skyline-1996/OAG-AD-13419957/?Cr=3
  20. Check charging voltage at the terminals, should be under 14.6. Electrolyte level should be about 1cm above the lead plates, and not touch the bottom edge of the filling tube.
  21. Vinyl has gone hard by the looks of it, I always use non silicone dash protectants and yet to have a cracking issue. But, hard to say how much the dressing actually helps, maybe I've just been lucky
  22. Heat gun should work on the scratches. But may cause more damage if not done with care... The seat needs a wet extraction vac, those carpet cleaners that you can hire from supermarkets work fine
