  1. Y u use no press? Especially with the subframe out? I concur, removing steel sleeved bushes is my absolute most hated job to do on the car. Solid effort and kit too, looking forward to seeing the finished product.
  2. If it's driving funny off boost (under 3000rpm) then it's not necessarily the turbo. I'd definitely check the cooler piping but also the rest of the intake plumbing. I once had the narrow pipe that goes across the valley cover right at the back of the engine pop off at the track and the car ran like s__t as air was getting past the AFM. Good luck!
  3. That rebuild one is amazing, great work! And so much work...
  4. Here's that lap: Apologies for the video quality, the iPhone doesn't seem to like the fairly rigid mounting
  5. Also just in case people want a point of reference, my Sandown PB is 1:29.58 and there's more in the car, less sure about the driver though...
  6. Found an engine, please feel free to close thread thanks.
  7. What Bill said. I've had both SS and SR, wouldn't do the SS again but the SR are great. They were excellent at Sandown with new RDA rotors too. I have some squeal on the street under light pedal pressure but otherwise can't fault them. Talk to Johnny for a deal
  8. Perhaps we could do a two-in-one deal for the distinguished sedanist?
  9. The new engine has arrived from Sydney today, fingers cross I'll have the car back next week yay! Lots of new seals and gaskets going in, radiator and intercooler are getting flushed etc, getting it all done properly. In other news, EOI: https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/469494-eoi-the-ultimate-r34-family-hybrid-for-street-and-track-275rwkw/
  10. Cheers mate – I'm hoping that this will save everyone's time Also it's an EOI but forum rules mandate a price, so there

  12. Speaking of Germans and OEM vs. fake/cheap wheel quality:
  13. I had this done recently on my 34 GTT and it's a puzzle job. My workshop had to piece it together from multiple kits, there are no off the shelf full kits for the Neo as far as I know. Shame.
  14. +1 spot on. Definitely drivable just no HICAS, ABS or traction control. Dogs...
  15. Haha, yeah maybe. I might list the bottom end complete first and see how it goes. The head's been paid for and couriered today, that was fast. Thanks once again @admS15 for the tip!
  16. $2600 brake kit to allow installation of $750 wheels o_O You'd want pretty careful measurement of the Alcons to be 100% sure of fitment before ordering.
  17. Ok I may have a buyer for the original refreshed cylinder head, any tips on how to package up one properly for safe delivery?
  18. Looks like there is a trial version: https://www.nistune.com/index.php/support/software-downloads I'll check it when I get the car back home, hopefully in two weeks or so...
  19. Hold on, you own the workshop?
  20. Thanks man will do! I've got the Consult cable but do I need a full version of the Nistune software to grab the tune?
  21. I've got an RB25DET Neo head in Melbourne. I'm not sure what they are worth but the refresh alone cost me $550 in November and it has less than 3,000kms on it since, about 156,000 on the engine overall. Here's what was done, from the receipt: Disassemble and clean head Pressure test and hardness test head Vacuum test valves Surface head .005" Supply and change new valve stem seals Reassemble Happy to take offers by PM. Cheers
  22. Nope, we don't have a 100% clear answer at the moment. My suspicion is that what was originally identified as a blown HG (after much debate, since the evidence was inconclusive) ended up being a more sinister underlying issue with the engine. My best guess at the moment is a crack in the block but for a full diagnosis we'd have to tear down the bottom end and possibly crack test the block. I'm not interested in throwing any more good money after bad at the moment frankly, so we may be left guessing for a while. And yes I've run it at 20psi / 275rwkw for a while, which is meant to be within the 'safe' range for a Neo. It died after about 8 track days so I'm wondering if there's a street 'safe' and a track 'safe' power level, and how different they might be...
  23. Thanks Pat, that did the trick! Just paid for a Neo long engine, wasn't cheap but hopefully it will live up to the expectation. Man there's a Neo drought out there big time...
  24. Mate you're going to spend a lot more than 4 x $189 to 'get these to fit', unless you pick up the angle grinder. Not worth compromising your brakes just to save some money on wheels especially if you have a nice car like the GTR. Also unless you're already got fully adjustable everything in the suspension (front and rear camber arms, tension arms, traction rods etc.) it's likely you'll have to install those too, to get your alignment anywhere near decent.
