Safe to say I am VERY happy with this exhaust. Quiet on idle but tear-you-a-new-asshole aggressive when you open it up. This was running gate pressure of 7psi and only revving to 5k as I'm slowly working up the boost and RPM. It's so hard to not drive it like this all the time!

I love the cracks from the exhaust when you get off the loud pedal, it does it in every gear and sounds absolutely nuts hahaha!

This things isn't dead. I swear.

Flavour of the month at the moment is a weld leaking from where the fitting for the VCT was welded to the head. Nothing is able to stop it. Long story short engine is back out and head has gone away to be fixed. Will be drilled and tapped rather than getting a fitting welded on.

So just getting a general tidy up while there is no engine in the bay. Relocating power distribution block, installing castor arms (the only non standard arm in the car even after 2 years drifting haha), removing front swaybar because front wheels hit it now due to extra steering lock.

Picked up a new pair of rims to help combat the issue. 18x8+38 AVS model 5's. Love these wheels just shit sizes, will run them with a 25mm spacer on the front which should give me plenty of inner clearance.

Decided to paint some Shit too because it looks pretty average without paint. Used VHT wrinkle coat and it came out pretty good, I'm impressed.

Goes for tune (hopefully) at DVS JEZ on 16th feb and (hopefully) making its debut at Streetkarnage Halfway Hangs at RALEIGH raceway 20th feb lol. Last minute hustle come at me.

Absolutely.

Just a shame I didn't think of it back in September last year when it first started leaking. Fabricator was positive he could re-weld it and it would be fine. After 3 attempts over 3 months I finally cracked the shits and said tap it.

Lend me some motivation. Guy who originally welded my head for VCT oil line f**ked it and actually cracked the head somehow and it's now leaking. Tried to fill it with JB weld and it got into the crack and now cannot be welded back up as no weld will take to the JB weld. Me having no idea about how any of this stuff works only found out right at the end when I got told the head is now not salvageable.

Right.

I said f**k it (lucky I had a spare neo head laying around) I will use my other head. So I took it to someone else who specialises in this work. Told them to weld VCT hole In bottom of head and deck flat, and drill and tap front of head for VCT fitting. They drilled and tapped in the wrong spot and now the fitting in the head only clears the intake manifold by 3mm. And that's with nothing screwed into it.

I'm well over getting assf**ked by supposedly reputable people. f**k newcastle, get me back to SA.

And f**k this f**king car.

I last read your build thread a few years ago when you were still in Wagga... I must say things have gone a 'little' crazy since then, with the RB30 etc!

I've often thought about putting an RB30 in mine, but always decide against it due to bonnet/stay bar fitment... How did it go in yours? Did you have to cut out the bonnet supports?

Go call Adam at JEM. Its a bit of a hike but Matt Gtt from the forums is a Newcastle boy im pretty sure and travels due to the quallity of work. Just google them or watch this video to get an idea :P If you email him he can also give you great advise and may know someone closer to yourself that can build the head you are looking for :)

Spent all week tidying shit up and getting everything to a stage where I am happy with it.

Now it's all loaded on the trailer off to get tuned tomorrow. Hopefully 12 months of hard work and disappointment after disappointment with people letting me down come to an end and I get a decent result tomorrow!
