He's actually a geological engineer for a mining outfit, very smart and very friendly and helpful. He just happens to have been raised in a farming community where "pests" are shot.

Maybe go for slightly less broad strokes with that brush of yours ;)

Oh man, the neighbour has enough guns for everyone.

His face when I said I owned zero guns and had no interest in getting any was very obviously one of "but... what do you mean?!" whilst trying to be polite lol

It really is a sad state of affairs.

Not really that sad, they are just "tools" to get a job done.

I have 2 chainsaws, not because I love chainsaws or I'm anti trees or want to cut everything down, but because I need 2 chainsaws to do my job of collecting firewood efficiently. You can argue that I should not be cutting up fallen dead trees because insects and critters could live in there etc etc, but the bottom line is, it's my property and I'm allowed to so it's my choice.

He has sheep, foxes eat his lambs at an alarming rate, so he removes those foxes from his property. His property, his choice.

My comment about his reaction was just a laugh about two different cultures meeting, I wasn't raised on the land so my exposure to rural living is very different to his. Not right or wrong, just different.

lol, big difference between living on a property vs living on a farm.

Farmers farm things, animals, crops etc. I just happen to live on a chunk of land that is fenced.

Certainly more work than a house block though.

Enjoy the festival.

Rural people who shoot foxes, dogs and other ferals to protect their land I have no issues with, they usually have a few different types of weapons for different occasions, I have no issues with that.

It's the yobbos with multiple weapons that cause the issues. It's like they are compensating for their massive insecurity.

They talk about hunting but never hunt, they talk about self defence, but they end up shooting members of their family, their kids shoot themselves, or, the weapons are stolen.

Yeah, I hate guns in the hands of the average Joe bogan racist idiot......I'll stop spraying now

Well to be fair everyone was on the house bandwagon and look what happened to that...

I predicted the crash 3 years ago, wish I had the know-how to of 'shorted' the market lol

Predicting a heads or tails outcome isn't difficult, cause a stopped clock is right twice a day. People had been "predicting" a correction or bubble burst for about the last ten years...no one was able to say exactly when and those who did ended up very wrong. Too many variables to call that one...

Car was fired up as of yesterday afternoon and is running....

It should see the dyno at some point this week or next

How much power do you guys think it'll make ? Noting the head is ported & polished as well....

On E85?

No more than 340-350rwkw, but as mentioned I would not expect turbos to last. That's more -9 territory.

330rwkw is about where I'd aim as a max on ethanol, the engine and head will want to make more but those -7s wont be loving life.

When you say hitting the dyno, I'm assuming you're tuning it to clean up the richness and make it a lot nicer?

If tuning, very low 300, but it should be nice and responsive and fun as hell to drive. Will make a wicked fun daily.

Dose....twin restrictions.....good way of describing them lol

Matt we are doing a full flex tune with an Emtron, & I've got oil & fuel pressure / temp sensors in place as motor protection.

Dan, I'm a little bit gutted that it's not already single tbh....I mean 330 should make a plenty fast street car....but I'm not sure if thats enough to be "scary".... well, for my latina passengers it will be but maybe not for me after being in Piggaz car.

It's pretty annoying that for nascar grade power its nascar grade money.

I told you, you can sell the twins and do a cheap GTX single easily enough using used parts.

330 on -7s will be zippy, but not scary. Especially after your ride in Paul's car.

I had 380 and more torque than you will make and it felt like it needed another 100kw to be honest.

You have all the other bits to throw a cheap single on and make 400+ easily enough.

You keep asking this question Benny. It’s going to be the same power as any other -7 car before it or after it, it just will be.

Is you exhaust decent or is it a Japanese Samuari nugget?

330 kw at 24 psi. I’ll buy you a car of piss if it goes north of 340 kw at 24 psi. With no cam gears it’ll be late 4000’s/5000 rpm to reach target boost in 2nd.

How it drives sub 5000rpm now, it’s not going to change too much. A little bit not much.

Is what it is mate. ?‍♂️

Guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend and what feels normal. I get 360kw @ 22psi on e85 on -9s in my 2.6 and I love it. That feels excellent as "normal" is walking home from work on arthritic knees.

    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
    • It says 300ZX, does that make it an Aus delivered car? Funny how back in the day I just couldn't care less about Z32's and these days I am just in love with them. Back when Nissan was into pushing the envelope. 🤣
    • Hi guys, just after some guidance with an R34 sunroof that has stopped working correctly. It still opens and closes perfectly fine, but it no longer tilts/vents up or down. As a result, the rear of the glass now sags a bit as it drops down slightly in order to retract into the roof, but now it can't pop upwards into a flush position. I’ve probed the pins on the back of the switch connector with a multimeter and it seems like both switches (for open/close and tilt/vent) still work correctly. Any ideas on what it could be, or where I should even start in terms of diagnosing? I'm sure someone's had this issue before but I haven't been able to find anything online relating to this specific issue, most of the issues are with the seals leaking or the motor failing entirely. Thanks in advance!
