Not so much a what have I done but a what I will do when the wife and kids give me 5 minutes of peace!

attachicon.gif2015-11-29 09.27.43.jpg

Next on the list will be coilovers, looking at MCA, Blitz ZZ-R and BC BR RS.

Anyone running the Blitz or MCA or anything else they are happy with?

whats in the innovate box mate?

Whats the fitment like with the blitz kit? Hit a possum a few months back and have been having random boost leaks since and I've narrowed it down to the cooler itself being warped and not sealing properly, with my current HDi cooler.

Thinking to just replace the core but the blitz kits tempting whats left of my "JDM yo" honda feelings

Thrashed it at the Snowy 1000

Ran 22.49 @ 233.5 kph, better ET than I expected but was hoping for a quicker trap speed.

Was quite happy the wagon was able to drive home as many cars didn't survive the day.

Ok so as promised....

I had more time to spare to go check out the M35 as we get closer to the end of this long job,

I managed to take a few happy snaps of a few bits.

Clutch pedal is sorted.

Manual box in place

Centre console test fitted

Tail Shaft not in yet...

But the best bit is.... IT STARTS!!! The 4wd light is on + the auto light flashes a few times on start up but it stars perfectly and idles fine.

Next the hand brake will be sorted + clutch line and then all i am waiting on is the tail shaft which i was hoping to be done before this week ends but looks like next week.

There are heaps more photo's that have been taken by the mechanic but they will sorted once all is done.

hey maybe we should rename this thread to " What have you hidden from your missus lately "

so far I've done high flow, ( she knows that one but not the total cost ), brakes, rotors, pads, bov, boost t and sway bars.

sitting in my cupboard I have two Greddy BOV's, new set of plugs, intake coupling and clamps, new fuel pump and strainer, an AMPerformance intake with heat wrap, and lastly an E-Manage Ultimate in a box.

Add it all up and it's a holiday to Thailand.

if she knew I'd be a f**king grease pop. ;)

It won't run cooler with the Nismo thermostat - it will just take longer to warm up. Stock is best.

Not true actually.

OEM opens at 86deg, so you'll never see it colder than that in normal running.

Nismo opens at 74deg, so my car routinely runs around 80 deg; except in very hot weather.

OEM does keep temps more stable, but only when using an OEM radiator.

how about your car with heavy traffic on 40 degree day?

Your thermostat is not like the unit on the wall that controls your central heating - it just increases the flow through the radiator and once its open the Nismo is no different from the stocker so on a hot day both will be open but the amount of cooling done by the radiator will be exactly the same i.e. a thermostat that opens at a lower temperature will not cool your engine any better than one that opens later once that temperature has been reached.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
