  1. hey mate just wondering if you ever got around to tackling that whistling noise...curious to see what was up
  2. what a beauty, nice valve covers ties the car together nicely. ahhhhh nothing like a clean gtr just awesome to look at. we are spoiled to be able to enjoy these cars! cheers mate.
  3. yeah and for what its worth id set it up with a front facing manifold(looks way better and a hell of a lot cleaner to work on...some guys around here have neo's in there gts r32's with front facing manifolds on gt30's or gt35's. really nice setups they keep up with my gtr all day. you got a nice car mate keep it that way with a real clean 25 build. maybe while the engine is out you could do a little bit of internal work, (head gasket and studs would be a good start if your trying to achieve a safe 400whp.) get all your ducks in order before you start the build. make sure you know exactly the direction you want you car to go so you don't have to do your build twice! I would definitely shoot for higher 300 or 400whp. you will get used to your power and always want more lol....so start with a descent punch. ive had great luck with the haltec ecu for tuning, but I'm assuming you have a reputable tuner in your area so usually pick the tuning he is most comfortable with in giving a safe fast tune.
  4. just went through this entire thread haha what a mate and what a build, where there is a will theres a way....
  5. post a picture of the whole car that things mental! what a unit
  6. yup once again some good advice from a good mate. definitely hold off on a rb20. id put a 2j in that so fast it would make peoples head spin lol. just kidding through a 25 in it forsure on a serious note. much better engine all around easy to achieve your power goals.
  7. nice clean r33 gtr mate. I wish more cars were left simple and clean as hell like this one. looks like a pleasant fast car to drive
  8. right on m8. I have a tree company back home and calls have slowed right down. days we aren't cutting just staying hanging out with my 2 year old. my 32 is getting all new weather stripping and paint right now pretty pumped about that but no car to work on ha...stay safe over there buddy and keep taking your time on your build you got a good thing going on, imagine the feeling when you turn the key on that old girl:)
  9. this is definitely where you start. seems like everyone jumps to the big issues before grabbing the garden hose, or a multimeter and actually running some tests for simple issues. theres not that much piping on a gts shouldn't be hard to find the leak m8. and turbo could still easily be bunged after 5 years. ive seen lots of reconditioned turbos bite the dust early.could even be cracked housing on intake side of turbo ive seen this too. do the garden hose test and shout back...
  10. hows things going in your area with all the weirdness.....theres no virus in our area at all no cases we are all on lock d tho…cheers hope all is well m8 with car and life!
  11. ill try to keep this short. plugs could be black from fuel or oil. I would pop the oil cap off and take a sniff and see if it smells like fuel in your oil. this can be caused by fuel sneaking past rings when firing. I also over filled my oil real bad back in the day on a r32 gtr and this caused blow by and I had the black plugs with rich oil smell(also popped dipstick). im always optimistic and like to assume its not internal problems but sounds to me like your motor might be getting tired. once I dropped my oil when I over filled it and changed it to proper level my issue was completely gone and the fuel smell in oil was completely gone as well I think I caught it early enough before I did real bad damage. a motor that runs too rich all the time or to often will be very hard on the rings and can wash them out. I find even with my car I cant pussy foot it or it starts smoking a bit of white out exhaust and smells like fuel and my spark plugs start acting up. I get on it and it cleans up and goes like hell. ill keep in touch I think we can solve this. no you wont always hear a vac leak either. need to test system or spray brake cleaner around your motor when its running and listen for sputters. cheers
  12. great cars mate welcome to site. stay safe in your garage and work on cars mate during the craziness. prayers are with all of you for safety!
  13. Good job buddy. I feeel your pain I was in your shoes many times!, little trouble shooting little grunt and some wire chasing and walla!!! I’m curious to know which wire caused this if you can post a pic m8, glad she’s grippin n rippin again!
  14. If you don’t have good resistance sin the 8-2.2 range, then measure terminal 1,2,3,4 on the harness side. After this is done we will be able to tell if your control unit is faulty or you have a broken wire or bad ground somewhere . I’m starting to think you should try n find a friends control unit and try it.
  15. Test for resistance through terminals 13-20 on the harness side, then get back to us mate.
  16. Hey mate you get at this yet? Just curious to see what your problem was.
  17. On the veil side note! This is all I got I wanna find some more veilside stuff for my car now...
  18. right on m8 that ones way deadlier than the Nismo as far as im concerned, love the vielside parts.
  19. I’ve always liked the rarish ARC parts hopefully see some! I think simply some of the rb30 engines in the Australia area would be my favourite part of my car if I had one. Let’s see some parts mates!
  20. ive always stayed away from relocations and what not to keep diagnostics easier and what not just keeping a simple fast platform. I do feel once the multimeter and you become friends your gunna solve this issue quick.
  21. good call m8 way easier buying a car you can see, feel, hear, and really become one with her if its the car for you mate! hope it works out for you post it up if you end up buying one, cheers.
  22. haha that's ballin mate definitely gunna be a contender for one of the coolest parts posted on this thread. let someone fill her up someday at the pump and the gas attendant would just be trippin lol.
  23. correct the multi meter has to have the setting on it looks like a horse shoe. I also can add that when testing for resistance make dam sure you have a good connection in the terminal with a nice sharp end, sometimes you can tie a paper clip to the end of your multimeter probe to get a better connection in the terminal. this is sounding like bad ground, broken wire, something to do with the relocation I believe. let us know when you have done the resistance test on terminals 13-20. then we can narrow down if you need a new control unit or if we need to continue testing
