  1. derno, Matt Wooten & TIm Burt don't seem to have issues with stock oil pump, stock rod/bolts
  2. Crank at shop, but their machinist has buggered off overseas for 4x weeks! Thinking if I should do connecting rod bolts too lol. Still stock motor
  3. nice!! going with the AO kit? or the kit from Z1 Motorsports
  4. 95 dB if you hassle them during track hiring time
  5. ........... but it's a race car? why not gates out of the bonnet or out of the quarter panel like Ryan Tuerck's car?
  6. My only advise is don't skimp.. I setup a car last week (preparing it for the dyno) and the owner had a popular-failing brand of coils which he brought new. Guess what? he now has spent more money on Splitfires to resolve his issues. His colourful coilpacks nearly shorted his ECU too when 1x of the coilpacks decided to short essentially creating a bridge between +ve & -ve.
  7. No Golf R love aye? MK6 Golf R can be had for under 30k (nearly same price as GTIs).. in stock form with a decent driver and only decent street tyres will nail down a 1m10~11 at Wakefield Park. Now imagine some R-compounds, better pads (not even brake upgrades), a better seat in the car. I suspect in the right hands a 1m7~8s, then come the suspension and power mods later down the track. Not to mention it's a direct injected motor - you'll be see power/torque from as low as 2k rpm.
  8. You need adaptors, if you're after some decent braking power - go the Alpha Omega kit which uses the older Brembo from Evo 5-9 but uses the 350mm EvoX rotors.
  9. sweet, if you need new DBA rotors I can assist, as well as HEL lines
  10. what pads and rotors are you using? Could I tempt you on some Intima SRs & DBA 4000 rotors?
  11. How about install modern injectors, with stainless bodies. Then install a Nistune with a Z32 AFM. Will probably be more time/cost effective for your issues and also youll have head room for the future once you drop in a bigger turbo Everyone wins.
  12. #twinscrollislife You planning to ceramic coat or wrap that manifold?
  13. Baffled but not gated, feeling a bit poor haha.. Yeah you "could" do it motor in but at that rate you might as well take the motor out. Some progress tonight, I removed the crank. Some scoring on the bearings so might change all of them too I was hoping on the conrod bearings needed changing but YOLO right? I still want to retain the standard NEO rods and NEO pistons because they said not to let the Nissan out *ahem* @GTSBoy, @Piggaz. Nissan hasn't been let out lol. Oh hai! Looks the goods, sump was modified to suit the AWD motor going RED as the pick up sits more forward. Test fitting was spot on, I like very much - great success. Off to the machinist it goes, the silly crank.
  14. Thanks guys Also I love the fact you used heat shrinks, 20 points!
  15. Lek shu, have been super busy with other shit so le siet bok was put on the back burner. However look what turned up last night? (My mate picked it up for me from HOR thus the not so good portrait photo)
  16. Awesome stuff man! Looks like you'll get yours running before mine lol
  17. You obviously don't tune cars nor have any knowledge of how-to operate a dyno.
  18. RB26 motors are rubbish thus people for HKS VCAM to them. Also like I said earlier you can adjust the VCT cut off point. It's not fixed at 4700rpm and can be raised till torque starts to decay heavily. FWIW if you bother to absorb any useful information, my VCT is set to turn off at 5500rpm. You sound like you're American like what I said in the PM.
  19. The difference is day and night
  20. You give a man a hammer everything looks like a nail.
  21. lunacy to toss the VCT, each to their own
  22. You can control the VCT cut off point and also VCT will assist your turbo spooling. Furthermore it's a street car youll need that low down to move around traffic. Worse idea ever removing VCT. If you want brappy cams that support VCT look at Camtech cams.
  23. Possible too, coolant does run through the intake
