Getting a sump gasket for R34 tiptronic
KiwiRS4T replied to DatsunBanana's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Filter can be cleaned. You can likely find a gasket if you want as the gearbox is common to a number of vehicles (Jatco box) and there are aftermarket kits for sale. But if you are careful you may be able to reuse the gasket. -
Depending on the cams you may always have lag city with the 3076. What means do you have for tuning? Is it this engine that has failed? Are you in a position to replace it with an RB25?

AFM Adapter Harness RB25DET S2 NEO
KiwiRS4T replied to ceoont's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
What makes you think they won't post it to you? They list a price for international customers. If all else fails I can get you one and post it to you...or I could find a wiring diagram and you could wire the plug yourself. -
?

Get a metal Tomei gasket. I think it will be 1.2mm but they may do a thinner one.
-
Should be stuff all coming out the tappet cover and anyway you have it vented to atmosphere...
-
I reckon 1 bar per 1000 revs would be more than enough so about 100psi (but always use fully synthetic oil as a precaution). Also run one breather to the bottom of the catch can so oil can run back off boost.
-
Less pressure and smaller restrictor may do it. If not instead of venting to atmosphere put another catch can from the vent rather than pull the engine apart again!

My Nissan Trained Japanese tuner told me to throw out my copper plugs and fit PFR7G-11S which I did. You though may have found the lifespan of the Splitfires. No-one has yet pointed to a simple test for coils to see how they are holding up.

New dude, new care, many questions! (Stagea c34)
KiwiRS4T replied to TheKenso's topic in Introduce yourself
Yes they are like all Japanese JDM cars limited to 180 km/hr but there are ways around this (Google is your friend). Same for GTR conversion (I presume you mean the front of the car, not the mechanicals). Look in the Stagea section labelled Wagoneers for a wealth of information. -
RB30s have been revved to 10,000 but that is neither here nor there. I suggest the exhaust as an easy first step but as above you are not exactly short of power.
-
Did you try asking Glen what he thinks? You need minimum 3.5in exhaust (can flow up to 36% more than 3in) and check the rear muffler to make sure it doesn't step down from 3in like a lot of Japanese mufflers do.
-
1. What do you call a massive catch can? Is it 2 litres or more? 2. Is it baffled so the flow goes past or across all the baffles before exiting the catch can? 3. The lines going to the sump are they half inch and do both go well above the full level of the sump? 4. Restrictors - not sure what engine you got ...have you blocked off the front feed and put the 1.0mm in the rear feed? 5. Is your oil pump adjustable from the outside? If so what pressure are you getting and can you try turning it down? When you say you get oil blowing out on the long corners what happens to the oil pressure - are you emptying the sump? New smaller restrictor may fix it.

Leave it stock; sell the fans. -
RS4S clicking from dashboard problem
KiwiRS4T replied to ian's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
What's a coil light? There will be a DIY on changing your spark plugs in the general DIY section and you have to remove the coils to get at them. If you are getting new coils go for OEM or Splitfires. To search use Google - most Stagea or RB related questions will produce a large number of SAU posts or threads. -
Do a compression test - maybe you have massive blowby.

Modify the pick up sell the block - still popular

Suspension replacement on r34 after theft ?
KiwiRS4T replied to Joe34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If you are talking of replacing the entire suspension you are presumably talking about second hand parts. The best solution is to get a known good suspension shop to make the repairs. Alternatively go with your mechanic's suggestions. -

If you are going to use them for the machining you could give them a cash deposit. -
Bonnet Struts, Some Help Required, Please
KiwiRS4T replied to WHOP's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Wow I am amazed that the NM35 has a primitive bonnet support. I could take a pic of the WGCN34 bonnet struts but that probably won't help you. Hopefully one of the NM35 owners can post up some pics and tell you if the mounts are already there or need to be drilled or whatever. -
So why do you think you don't have a neo engine?
-
Do you have the shroud fitted?
