  1. You could check pressure and flow if you have access to a meter or you could just open up the tank and see if the pump is still properly secured. The Walbro is thinner than the stock item so needs to be properly secured in the cradle. Use a torch to see if the sock is in fact on the bottom of the tank or if the pump has become dislodged. Also I presume you have replaced the fuel filter in the engine bay...
  2. How many km has your car done? If you are going to change the water pump you should change the cambelt and idlers at the same time as it is very labour intensive. if you are short of cash think carefully before you waste money on unnecessary parts. Get your car running right before you start increasing the power. Take your coil packs off and give them a very good clean and wrap them in insulating tape. If your coils are stuffed buy only OEM or Splitfires - nothing else. Fit new plugs if necessary. Do NOT buy that throttle body. Your stock one is good for over 500KW and you are light years away from that.
  3. So have you topped up the oil or are driving around not knowing how much oil is in the sump? If not buy some oil and drop 2L in, dip it , and then add 250ml at a time so you know how much you are under the full mark. It sounds as though you have limited mechanical knowledge and are using a workshop for everything which is sensible but in order to save money and learn to have confidence in your car it is good to start doing the basics (oil change, plugs etc) yourself.
  4. Yep the blue build plate will tell you what kind of Trans was original. Also the fuses under the battery may have been shorted out to simulate Park for starting - there may be a gear position indicator on the cluster although it could have been blanked out.
  5. Did you do the service yourself? Fill the oil exactly to the mark on the dipstick? Fill it again today and monitor the level for a week or two. If it has burned off a couple of litres do a compression test and then repeat it with a shot of oil in each cylinder to see if its the rings.
  6. Do the compression test again with a warm engine and hold the throttle wide open.
  7. Gearbox will not break if you treat it right.
  8. Obviously you won't be using the "performance shop" that sold you the car. Can't suggest a shop in Adelaide but would say Hypergear will give you better bang for buck than GCG.
  9. OEM gaskets should be fine. (Ahem get crank collar from me for much less than Nitto price!)
  10. These are in NZ dollars: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-1399850066.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-1385027389.htm
  11. How much did the 2.8 kit cost? Spend a few bucks more and get a Link or such like. Also are they old school Sards? If so get some modern injectors and double check the settings. Have you replaced the fuel pump...tested fuel pressure?
  12. If you are not changing the pistons no point in changing the rods, Get the head crack tested valves reseated etc.Stock OEM gaskets should be fine - how much more are the Tomei set? The Tomei metal head gasket can be re-used if you have to pull the head off again for any reason. You haven't listed rings... as with luck (measure to check) you can keep the pistons if they are not damaged and bores are within spec.
  13. Why is that a good thing? What problems were you having before?
  14. Have you had a look at the RB25 Turbo upgrade thread at the top of the page?
  15. Hundreds of people. Its not rocket science. Start again. Pull the wheel and spacer off. Put the wheel back on. Measure the distance to the desired position relative to the guard (after you have dropped the car and driven a few metres to ensure its back to normal) and that is the required thickness of the spacer. Measure the spacer that you have. Are the wheels flush on the spacer? As above, take some pics before, after, and just after you fit the spacer.
  16. Cam belt, idlers, waterpump.
  17. Try pulling the wires off the temp sensor for the ECU (its the one with two wires not the single wire). If it starts better from cold get a new sensor.
  18. Some people run N1 pumps with no problems. There were a dodgy batch of knockoffs around for a while. Maybe as above get some billet gears and make sure you loctite the screws when you put it together. Tomei would be great but they are $$$
  19. Probably hundreds if not thousands of people...but why be a sheep? Just leave it stock.
  20. That'll teach you to put on a cheap DIY intake - should have left it factory! You may have damaged the MAF or its wiring in the process.
  21. Sorry to go off topic but we never see those kinds of temps here. Does the aircond cope to make the car bearable inside?
  22. Not in the transfer case but you will need another speedo drive to make it read correctly (from a Stagea or GTR)
