    The N1

    The N1 Thanks to SAU.NSW, JLM, Iron Chef for a remarkable journey into N1s. These I expect, will be displayed at the request of SAU.NSW at the GT-R Festival in June. Thanks to Andrew Le who captured this shot + the great photographers who've taken further shots below. And thanks to Lucas Davidson, Brad McKernan and Mark Dodd for 'pulling teeth' to gain the information about N1s and not just count on Wiki or Gorodji references for the truth.

  4. im looking into upgrading my r33 turbos to the nismo n1 kit (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Turbo-N1-Upgrade-Kit-R32-R33-GTR-RB26-RB26DETT-NISMO-/120514498456) link to N1 turbos on ebay. if i do get this kit will it be safe to put in my gtr i dont have a N1 block will this matter.
  5. Can I use stock cams in an N1 block? Gentlemen and ladies I have an RB26 N1 block and I have stripped down my stock RB26 block. I would like to build this block as an N1 engine. I am getting my crank blue printed. N1 oil pump and N1 water pump. Are the N1 cams the same as the stock ones? i read this on this site.   6. just had some used Apexi N1 coilovers fitted to my R34 gtt bought from a reputable member, fitted by a mechanic. the rear right seems unstable, seems bouncy and over ridges or corrugations the back end seems to skip a bit. when going over a pot whole at low speeds the back end hit seeming harder than it should and you can feel a bouncy vibration through the car. is it likely that the shock is blown or is something likely to be loose? something is a bit rattly, knocky in the back, not yet sure if its from the strut or just something else behind the parcel shelf. anything i need to be checking, any easy way to tell? any help is appreciated

  10. are the grill mounts detachable for the n1 headlamps? or are they moulded to the housing? iv seen some n1 types that have the mounts and some doesnt have it..
  11. hey guys my much loved r32 gtr got stolen today around 3pm from the side of the rd in ultimo, sydney city, it is fairly standard looking, midnight blue, spaced stock wheels, got a few little dings in the bonnet and passenger guard, the wing has paint chipped off it, has r34 n1 turbos, blitz turbo timer, innovate wide band in the glove box, oil cooler behind front bar, oil relocation kit, nismo 555 injectors, amr chipped computer, amr fuel reg, turbosmart manual boost controler, hks jazma catback, stainless y pipe from turbos, front lip is pretty railed, has a chrome tow bar, not many have a tow bar! there are holes drilled in the chassis rails at the back for the tow bar, pretty obvious. if anyone sees any parts being sold please let me know, the rego is bmf-76e and yes, i will be crying myself to sleep tonight. also sorry if i posted this in the wrong spot.   12. Hi guys, Does anyone know if the RB26 N1 Blocks have smaller restricted oil galleries? I've searched around the web and also this forum but can't seem to find any definitive information on this (Maybe I suck at searching?). Wiki page states: But this statement does not provide any sources and is pretty vague. On another forum it was reported that: But following that claim, the person who had the N1 block actually measured the oil gallery from the top of the block at 2mm. So are the oil galleries really smaller on the N1 block or not? Is it restricted down inside the block but opened up at the top to match all head gaskets? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
  13. R34 N1 turbo identification and A/R difference Hi Guys. I've bought a set of what I think are -7 Turbos, which I assume are R34 N1's, but I have found there appears to be 3 variations of the Nissan part number, if the documents I am looking at are correct, the A/R's differ, but I would have thought it was exactly the same Turbo, and similar performance to GT-SS Turbos. 14411-AA401 14411-AA402 14411-AA403 This is the document i'm reading, it also apparently shows the AA403's have a GT22 compressor housing and not a T3 : http://www.readbag.com/psiparts-au-downloads-gtr-turbo-comparison Looking at specs, all appear to be the same except the AA403 which apparently has a 0.42 A/R, where as the rest have 0.6 compressor AR's, I'm wondering how can this be if they are all apparently the same. Having a look at my compressor, The A/R is 0.42. Rear wheel definitely appears to be steel. I just want to know if I got the real deal here, pretty sure it would be ball bearing. Here is what my Tag says 14411-AA403 707160-7 there is very small charachters on the tap that say something like "Red Signal" on it, I can only make out the "Signal" The question is are these R34 N1 Turbos and will they respond and have a top power similar to GT-SS? I am just wondering how the A/R of 0.42 is going to make the turbo perform different to a 0.6 Compressor A/R Just trying to do some research people appear to say this is the last rendition of the R34 N1 turbo and they changed the A/R for some reason. I had thought -7 turbos should be -7's but now there appears to be a difference. Thanks.
  14. Kakimoto exhaust Regu06 or Mega N1? I'm looking into the kakimoto exhaust systems and before we continue any further, yes I've searched. I'm spilt between the Regu06 or the N1 for my R34 GTT. What I would like to know is: -Which one is louder? Any dB readings? I've read that the Mega N1 is loud but it looks like most prefer the Regu06. -What are the differences between the two? Besides stainless steel construction. Basically, why did you get a Regu06 over an N1 or vice versa? Ive read some people say the newer models have silencers welded in the muffler while others say theirs never had one. Can anyone confirm this?

  20. Hi Guys, Up for sale is an Apexi N1 stainless cat back to suit BNR34. Its a 3.5" system from the centre muffler back to the cannon and steps down to 3" from the centre muffler forward so the cat can bolt on. Only selling as I went a bigger exhaust otherwise would have kept it. Was enough to flow to 420awkw with a 3.5" dump previously. Its pretty decent at idle and really opens up when you give it some revs. Condition is pretty good its dirty from being under the car but no dents just a few scrapes on the centre muffler. Price is $700 ONO. Pickup preferred over post given the size but may post at buyers expense. Item is located in Rouse Hill, NSW, 2155 and my number is 0403858714. Thanks, Brett
