  1. if all else fails you could measure it.
  2. You will blow your budget if your stock turbo goes - I would stick to 10 psi. And you don't even need a boost T you can do it yourself (and buy a second hand PFC - save yourself a lot of wiring). 10min boost increase.doc 10min boost pics.odt
  3. Sorry can't help with the dwell times but super impressed with an AWD S14!
  4. Needs a supercharger!
  5. In NZ Robbie from RIPS has a rock solid track record building his own and customer's engines. Does a lot of exporting - builds cars for English Premier League players (so not bargain basement builds) but worth getting a quote: https://www.ripsracing.com/
  6. Yep its not enough to leave your engine running you need to give it some revs and hold it there when the starter kicks in.
  7. And watch out for Japanese brand name exhausts - many of them have 3in inlets and outlets but narrow down to 2 1/2 in just before the outlet.
  8. Do that ! Where are you taking it as a matter of interest?
  9. Is this an engine oil cooler or a transmission fluid cooler? Post a pic
  10. Test your battery and test your alternator output.
  11. Fuel pump. Pull the fuel line off and measure the flow or stick a pressure gauge on it. O2 sensor should probably be replaced but it won't be the cause of your problem.
  12. Are you sure that the fumes are attributable to the 100 cell cat? Are your breathers and PCV valve up to scratch? Have you compression tested to see if you might have excessive blow by? Do you know someone with the ability to put an exhaust gas analyzer on you tail pipe? Are you running the stock blow off valve?
  13. No idea what everyone uses but I like Nismo competition gear oil 2189E 75W90 ... or slightly cheaper but almost (but not quite) the same spec is Motul competition gear oil 75W90 (both oils made by Motul) although other people use cheaper oils presumably with ok results.
  14. I had a key not working ...got someone to reprogram (the car I think) so that it worked. If both your keys failed together you are probably right in thinking its the car unit. Better get it looked at quick in case there is a transponder (don't know about your particular model) and that fails too in which case you will be stranded.
  15. Can do straight through but not oval. They could be custom made for you. http://www.diamondeyeperformance.com/index.php?cPath=21
  16. If you don't have a reason to change the ratio then leave it alone until you think of one. If you are going to double the power you may want to get an LSD but not necessarily change the ratio.
  17. RB30s commonly run to 300,000km - sure a set of rings and bearings won't keep you on the road?
  18. A bit of a tangent but I have just acquired a 2003 Skoda Superb - built on an extended Passat chassis with the VAG 2.7V6 - its a great well equipped car with a proper 5 speed tiptronic box that goes better than my 3.5L Maxima did!
  19. Well an M35 wagon obviously or a Passat or ideally RS6
  20. Take a door card off and with the door open use a screw driver to put the door catch in the "shut" position and observe what happens when you operate the locks. Try with the battery disconnected to see if the central locking is playing up.
  21. A phantom misfire is unlikely to be a timing problem - more likely coils, plugs, faulty CAS or a wiring problem.
  22. You can use a long screwdriver or similar to the ear to pin- point the noise but it sounds like an engine out and strip it down job.
  23. Try another browser
  24. So why bother posting? If you want to learn something (you could share with us) do the back to back testing as above.
