  1. Yep go RB30 and, depending on your ambition, go as cheaply as possible. Just clean up the block and do rings and bearings get a decent turbo, intercooler, exhaust and ecu. new fuel pump and injectors. Keep the stock manifolds, throttle body fpr and cams. You will love the way it drives. Unless you are made of money and want bling in which case the sky is the limit.
  2. Don't start new threads - it just wastes time.
  3. The Cusco product is 80W 140 or 80W 90 https://www.cusco.co.jp/en/news/products/lsd_oil.html You can buy it from https://www.rhdjapan.com/cusco-lsd-gear-oil-80w-90-1-liter-fr-4wd-ff.html It may be expensive but so is your diff and you won't need to change it very often.
  4. Read the thread. Why would you want 10.5in rims and condemn yourself to buying super expensive tyres?
  5. If you are an isolated Skyline owner you have a problem. The easiest way to eliminate problems is to swap out units with a mate with a known good engine and if there is anyone near you that would be simple. As you have cleaned the fuel system that's a start although if you could pressure test to see if the pump is up to scratch that would be good. I don't think dirty injectors are likely to give you the symptoms you describe, If you haven't already done so installing some new plugs would be a good idea and a look at the old ones may give you some clues. While you are at it you could thoroughly clean the coils but if they are the originals they could probably do with replacement. If you carefully mark the CAS you could take that off and turn it by hand feeling for roughness. My guess (and that's all it is) would be the fuel pump.
  6. For anything by the sound of it. Glad you got it sorted!
  7. I'll try and upload them in landscape as they seem to be bigger that way...yep if you click on these they come up quite well.
  8. 3 deg negative at the front is fine for the track but too much for street use. Steering in a straight line will be affected as will tyre wear.
  9. ^^^what he said. Ring around for the price of a good tune - it will suck up a big part of your budget
  10. Bore size is like gearing. Small bore means more pedal travel with less resistance. A bigger bore will mean less travel but harder pedal. The biggest stocker is the GTR BM57 but something close to that will help. Also steel braided brake lines will help.
  11. There are instructions in the how to do it section. (Tutorials DIY FAQ)
  12. Gidday! How about some pics of your car? New or better coils should be high on the list as should some kind of electronic boost control. Consider a single turbo conversion: http://www.goodezilla.com/rb26dett-skyline-gtr-single-turbo-vs-twin-turbo Cams can wait - a good tuner will get the best out of your current set up with the adjustable cam gears. Six speed gearbox would be nice but probably new turbo set up a better use for your money. Then injectors to suit. Happy spending - I mean modifying!
  13. Theoretically you should be able to plug the Link into a laptop with the appropriate software (although you may have trouble with modern laptops not having the right connection). Another possibility is to refit the OEM ECU with a Nistune chip installed. If you know the turbo specs, injector size etc someone could probably pre-install a good enough tune to keep you going until you can get to a tuner. PS car in pics looks very clean and straight!
  14. Good work - well done for keeping the airbags!
  15. Looks good as is - just drive it!!
  16. Very good. What turbo? Don't go looking for a second hand GTR pump ...buy a new pump.
  17. Sounds shocking to me. But if you don't want to do it yourself you will have to pay what someone else wants. Best bet is to get a couple more quotes - preferably from suspension specialists
  18. Well in Australia its simple ...compliant catalytic converter legally required so people wanting to lose the cat usually compromise by 1. putting in a free flowing although not necessarily compliant cat or 2. gutting the cat (so hard to tell from the outside) 3. installing a "test pipe" which may or may not resemble a cat. Or they just lose it altogether...easy to spot by looking under the car. I would be more interested to know why it is making only 265kw. What model Hypergear have you got and what injectors, intercooler, exhaust etc?
  19. You can go to a body shop and get your guards extended (if the wheels clear on the inside ok) or you can get some wheels that actually fit.
  20. These are available on US Ebay for a fraction of that price and with free postage https://www.ebay.com/itm/4x-NGK-Iridium-IX-LFR6AIX-11-Spark-Plugs-6619-For-BMW-Subaru-Volvo-Yamaha-Honda/153189046178?hash=item23aac757a2:g:ihgAAOSwaMxbpGka&vxp=mtr
  21. Great job. So far most of the results come from your hard work rather than from spending mega bucks. I am sure you will never want to sell it when you are finished!
  22. R34 CAS (Hitachi) pin 1 = earth pin 2 = power pin 3 = 1 deg pin 4 = 120 deg R33 Cas (Mitsubishi) pin 1 = 120 pin 2 = 1 pin 3 = power pin 4 = earth
  23. One or two extra psi will not kill your car. More than 10 or 12 may kill your turbo. People routinely increase boost to 10 psi usually without problem (there are no guarantees in this business). But since you will inevitably want more power down the track consider getting a Nistune chip anyway☺️
  24. Most people will say you need a turbo car to start with but in any case if you have lots of time do the reading first. Read through some build threads and read the RB30 PDF which you will find at the top of the forced induction section. As a minimum you are going to need some better brakes, transmission, suspension, an aftermarket computer so just because you are getting the engine cheap it won't be a cheap project. Does the engine come with manifolds, injectors, turbo? There is no quick answer...there are pages of info in this site and when you have done reading you may be left with some questions but do the research first.
  25. Interesting to see how little extra power is generated by some turbos with an extra 10 psi (as low as 14kw) while other turbos gain much more ...such as the EFR9180 with an extra 68kw
